Goldman Sachs has crowned its newest class of partners. The storied financial institution announced it elevated 109 executives to one of Wall Street's most coveted titles — the largest class since 2010. Thursday's announcement continues the bank's tradition of selecting a group of leaders every two years, usually in early November. This year's class is 15% larger than in 2024, when the firm promoted 95 executives. Goldman will have more than 500 partners overall when the new positions take effect in January, making up around 1% of the firm. Engineers made a big showing this year, as their talents are in increasingly high demand across Wall Street. Goldman promoted 13 engineers to its partner class across divisions, the highest number ever. Asset and Wealth Management also had a record showing, with 30% of the partners coming from that division. The partnership class reflects where CEO David Solomon and the rest of leadership thinks the firm is headed, one executive said. They also said that technological savvy and interest, including in AI, played a role in this year's promotions across roles. Unlike in 2024, Goldman did not share how many women or people of color were promoted to partner. As of January 1, the firm will have more than 100 female partners for the first time. Making partner at Goldman is a major career milestone. The title is paired with lucrative financial rewards, influence over the bank's direction, and one of Wall Street's most coveted titles. It's also not easy. Making the cut requires years of hard work and achievements, along with an intense review process known internally as "cross-ruffing," a nod to the card game bridge. Here are some key stats about who made the cut this year: 109 executives were promoted, the largest class since 2010 85% of partners are in revenue-producing roles, with 33 of them in Asset and Wealth Management 13 engineers were promoted, the highest number to date 28% of the new hires started as interns, and 39% started as campus hires New partners' average tenure at the firm is 17 years The new partners span a record 21 offices. Around 43% of them are based outside of the Americas.
