Amazon Prime members can now order from Uber Eats without paying a delivery fee. Matthew Horwood/Getty Images Amazon now has a restaurant delivery partnership with Uber Eats. Prime members can order through Amazon without paying a delivery fee on $25+ orders. The offering replaces Amazon's previous partnership with Grubhub. Amazon is waving goodbye to Grubhub and hello to Uber Eats. The retail giant's Prime members can now order food through Uber Eats, the companies said on Thursday. Members won't have to pay a delivery fee on food orders of $25 or more. The companies are also offering $20 off members' first two orders of $25 or more, they said. Users will have to place their Uber Eats orders through Amazon to take advantage of the new benefit, Amazon said. "Prime members can start ordering immediately, with no new app, Uber account, or credentials required," Amazon said in its announcement. Amazon is also ending its partnership with Grubhub, which offered Prime members similar benefits. The companies had worked together since 2022. The new partnership is the latest change-up in the delivery industry. Last week, DoorDash said it planned to acquire Instacart in a $17 billion deal that would create a company with a long roster of retail partners among both supermarkets and restaurants. The deal is expected to take at least a year to close. Walmart has also been moving into restaurant delivery after building up its own pool of gig workers to deliver groceries from its stores. The Uber Eats partnership is the latest new perk for Prime members, alongside free access to Alexa+, same-day fresh grocery delivery, and a fuel discount. Do you have a story idea about Uber?
